Bridge to Bass Hills
Bridge to Bass Hills is a new cycling challenge planned for Saturday 15th May, 2010 that local cyclists knew one day would be shared with riders across Victoria. For these cyclists, Bass Hills is Victoria's best kept cycling secret.
The cycling challenge begins at the seaside town of San Remo where riders will capture superb views of Western Port, then Bass Strait and its rugged coastline before heading into the twisting and turning hills. From there riders will enjoy panoramic views of Coast and Country with minimal interference of cars before leaving the hills and following the coastal road back to San Remo. Two rides are available at 63 km and 114km.
Recently Stephen from Cycling Profiles mapped and profiled the course. His comments were "it will be a fantastic course with low traffic, lovely vistas mixed with rolling hills and a couple of little pinches."
Whist the Bridge to Bass Hills is happening the township of San Remo is looking forward to accommodating friends, partners and children of the riders. Friends and family can experience the simple delights of San Remo including a walk over the Phillip Island Bridge or a latte on one of many foreshore cafes. Or take advantage of activities available on the day such as wine tasting, pizza making and art play for younger kids. Furthermore, when the riders return they can enjoy the restorative healing properties of Scenar and live music at The Westernport Hotel. Why not turn the event into a family weekend getaway staying at the seaside township of San Remo or across the bridge at Phillip Island.
The event is pleased to be supporting the San Remo traders recycling project.

V8 Supercars L&H 500 at Phillip Island
The L&H 500 at Phillip Island sets a new course for the V8 Supercar Championship Series by hosting the first endurance race of the season - a gruelling 500km on one the world's best circuits.
This will test both driver and machine as they take on Phillip Island and the rest of the field in the lead up to the ultimate endurance, the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama in October. The 2008 event saw the introduction of a new format which kept both drivers and fans on their toes in the lead up to the 500km race on Sunday.
This 2010 3 day action-packed event will have something for the whole family. Take a walk through merchandise alley or check out the million dollar transporters and catch all the behind-the-scenes action of the pits in the Paddock. There's plenty of great entertainment on and off the track.
